The Japan International Association for the Industry of Building and Housing (JIBH) believes that it is JIBH's social responsibility to protect personal information properly, and adheres to the laws and ordinances and other norms pertaining to the protection of personal information. Therefore, JIBH declares appropriate handling of personal information as its basic principle and is committed to the protection of personal information by following the policy below.

Acquiring Personal Information

When acquiring personal information, JIBH shall do so in a lawful and fair manner.

The Use of Personal Information

• 1. JIBH shall restrict the use of personal information to what is necessary for the performance of its business within the bounds of the purpose of use of that information.
• 2. Personal information shall not be used for any purpose other than its stated purpose of use unless the consent of the person to whom the personal information pertains ("the Principal") is given in advance.
• 3. When outsourcing the handling of personal information to a third party, JIBH will select a reliable outsourcer that meets sufficient management standards and will implement appropriate supervision.

Providing Personal Information to a Third Party

JIBH shall not provide personal information to a third party unless the consent of the Principal is given in advance, or the personal information is given to an outsourcer to undertake some business activity on our behalf, or other measures required by law.

Managing Personal Information

• 1. JIBH shall implement necessary and appropriate information-security measures such as those designed to prevent the leakage, loss, damage, or illegal access of personal information that JIBH holds, and shall make efforts for security management.
• 2. JIBH shall establish internal rules such as rules for the protection of personal information, shall ensure that all JIBH employees (including officers, full-time employees, staff employed on a contract basis, temporary staff, part-time staff, etc.) and other persons involved are made thoroughly acquainted with them, and shall make efforts for proper management.

Disclosure, Amendment, Deletion, etc. of the Personal Information that JIBH holds

JIBH shall, with respect to personal information that it holds, put in place a structure to enable it to respond promptly in the event that the Principal requests disclosure, amendment, deletion, etc., provided the identity of the Principal is confirmed.
